Our client, a prominent player in the consumer health industry, is seeking a Global Logistics Director to join their team in NW London. This permanent role involves steering the logistics functions across the end-to-end supply chain globally, ensuring cost optimisation, service excellence, and inventory management, continually aiming to align performance with business objectives. The successful applicant will take charge of logistics strategies, drive operational enhancements, and champion safety and standardisation globally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement global logistics strategies, reviewed annually to align with the 5-year business plan
  • Define and achieve long-term goals, targets, and strategic plans
  • Optimise warehousing strategies, including procurement of third-party services and achieving operational targets such as labour efficiency and CO2 reduction
  • Formulate and execute a multi-modal distribution strategy, managing requirements across sea, air, and road logistics
  • Design in-house and third-party logistics service strategies to balance cost, service, environmental impact, and minimising risk
  • Drive performance management processes, including KPI dashboards for third-party providers
  • Implement global standards and conduct periodic audits ensuring compliance with Good Distribution Practice (GDP)
  • Manage procurement and contract processes for logistics service providers in collaboration with regional teams

Job Requirements:


Experience:

  • Relevant logistics experience in FMCG or similar fast-paced environments
  • Experience of developing logistics strategies and running logistics operations, both in-house and third-party
  • Background in multi-site or multi-country operations
  • Proven track record in delivering performance improvements through continuous improvement projects
