Our client, a leading marine engineering consultancy in the defence and security sector, is currently seeking a Naval Architect to join their team in Canada, in either Halifax, Victoria, or Ottawa. This is a hybrid role, offering a blend of on-site and remote work arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Taking ownership of design delivery, ensuring quality, precision, and adherence to standards
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships while mentoring emerging talent
- Translating complex concepts into practical engineering solutions
- Conducting engineering analysis and CAD modelling
- Preparing technical reports and documentation
- Managing project planning and ensuring timely delivery
- Communicating effectively with stakeholders and managing client relationships
- Leading and mentoring team members, ensuring high-quality standards are maintained
Job Requirements:
- Experience in naval architecture design and analysis
- Proficiency in CAD and 3D modelling
- Knowledge of marine engineering standards and compliance
- Strong technical reporting and documentation skills
- Effective project planning and time management capabilities
- Excellent stakeholder communication and client management skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities
- Experience in team leadership and mentoring
Required Qualifications:
- Degree in Naval Architecture or related discipline
- Professional engineering body registration or membership
- Experience in naval architecture
