Our client, a major player in the Defence & Security sector, is seeking an Associate Project Manager to join their team in Victoria. This permanent role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a company that significantly contributes to creating a safe and secure world.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support to project teams, including:
- Assisting in the management and reporting of project resources, risks, opportunities, and issues
- Scheduling and facilitating stakeholder meetings, including compiling meeting minutes and recording & tracking actions
- Supporting project stakeholder management and communications
- Managing and maintaining project documents as required
- Producing reports and presentations for board reviews, progress meetings, etc.
- Developing metrics and managing databases to support project delivery objectives
- Carrying out document and records management to ensure compliance with Document Control processes
- Support in the administration of subcontracts and subcontractors
- Manage the project SharePoint site to facilitate communications and data availability
- Coordinate onsite visitors including support for health & safety requirements
- Develop, manage, and release project communications and formal reporting to the client
- Assist in the management of key improvement initiatives
- Coordinate project collaboration including tracking timelines, deliverables, progress reports, and action items
- Perform other duties as reasonably assigned to support business needs
Job Requirements:
- Experience in project management, preferably in an engineering or marine environment
- Experience in Microsoft Office applications, particularly strong Excel skills
- Strong interpersonal and excellent communication skills, with the ability to present information at appropriate levels
- Ability to react quickly to meet challenging objectives
- Solid organisational skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of scheduling practices and toolsets is an asset
- Familiarity with project estimating and planning systems (e.g., PEPS) is desirable
- Eligibility for Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance
