Our client, a prominent player in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a Principal Combat Systems Engineer to join their dynamic team. This permanent role is ideal for a seasoned professional with extensive experience in Combat Systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, governance, and technical direction across the Combat Systems portfolio.
- Apply Systems Engineering expertise to resolve complex technical challenges.
- Lead and mentor multidisciplinary technical teams in the definition, design, integration, verification, and delivery of Combat Systems.
- Ensure the quality, accuracy, completeness, and technical integrity of engineering outputs throughout the engineering lifecycle.
- Collaborate with program managers, customers, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of engineering activities.
- Support technical governance, assurance, reviews, and verification activities.
- Manage technical and program risks, including the development and assessment of mitigation actions.
- Build effective relationships with customers, external partners, and internal technical teams.
- Strengthen organisational capability through coaching, mentorship, and continuous improvement of engineering processes.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution or foreign equivalent.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licence in good standing or immediate eligibility to register in British Columbia.
- Extensive experience in a high-integrity engineering environment.
- Experience in the application of Systems Engineering in Combat Systems or related domains.
- Proven leadership skills and experience in leading technical teams and delivering projects.
- Deep understanding of Combat Systems and the Systems Engineering design lifecycle.
- Experience in the physical and functional integration of Victoria Class Submarine Combat Systems is an asset.
- Eligible for Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance.
