We are currently recruiting for a number of Electrical Fitters to support a major engineering programme based in Glasgow.
This is an initial 3 month contract with the potential for extension, subject to project requirements and performance. The client is ideally seeking experienced Marine Electricians but will also consider candidates from industrial electrical backgrounds who can demonstrate strong installation and fault-finding experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out electrical installation and fitting activities.
- Fault find and rectify electrical systems and equipment.
- Install, terminate and test cables and electrical components.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Work to site safety, quality and project standards.
- Support project delivery as part of a wider installation team.
Essential Requirements
- Level 3 Electrical Qualification (or equivalent).
- Experience within marine, industrial, manufacturing or heavy engineering environments.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation.
- Must be eligible to obtain the required security clearance.
Desirable Experience
- Marine or shipbuilding experience.
- Experience working on large engineering or manufacturing programmes.
Hours & Overtime
- Standard working week of 37 hours.
- Daily overtime is expected and regularly available.
- Typical working weeks are anticipated to be between 46-50 hours.
- Additional weekend working may be available depending on project requirements.
Rates
Umbrella co
- Standard Shift: £27.84 per hour
- Weekend & Night Shift: £36.92 per hour
- Weekday & Saturday Overtime: £39.74 per hour
- Sunday Overtime: £52.75 per hour
PAYE
- Standard Shift: £20.79/h plus £2.51/h holiday pay
- Weekend & Night Shift: £27.57/h plus £3.33/h holiday pay
- Weekday & Saturday Overtime: £29.67/h plus £3.58/h holiday pay
- Sunday Overtime: £39.39/h plus £4.75/h holiday pay
Security Clearance
Due to the nature of the work, successful candidates will be required to undergo security screening and clearance prior to commencing work.
Candidates must be able to provide the necessary documentation to support the clearance process and satisfy clearance requirements. Please note that clearance timescales can vary and may take several weeks to complete.
