Proven project controls professional, who has worked on complex construction projects in an highly regulated environment (Airport, Rail, Nuclear, Pharmaceutical etc) required for a Deputy PMO Lead opportunity.

This is a senior leadership role where you will lead and inspire a team of 5 project controls professionals on a £multi-billion complex construction transformation project.

We are happy to consider applicants looking for a permanent or contract (outside IR35) working arrangement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the company representative on the transformation programme, reporting to the PMO Lead
  • Lead, support and inspire a team of five Project Controls professionals
  • Oversee the implementation and development of Project Controls processes, procedures and governance
  • Support the introduction and effective use of Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Develop accurate programme reporting and present key information, risks and performance updates to the board
  • Provide leadership across project controls, including planning, performance management, cost and schedule control
  • Collaborate with project, programme and operational stakeholders to support successful transformation delivery
  • Take a hands-on approach, contributing to activities beyond the day-to-day remit when required

Job Requirements:

  • Significant senior-level experience in Project Controls or PMO within a complex construction or infrastructure environment
  • Strong understanding of project controls principles, processes and reporting requirements
  • Practical experience implementing or developing Earned Value Management systems and processes
  • Experience leading and developing project controls teams
  • Confident presenting programme performance and recommendations to board-level stakeholders
  • Strong knowledge of project planning, cost control, risk management and performance measurement
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • A proactive, adaptable and hands-on leadership style, with the ability to work effectively in a changing programme environment
