Our client is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to support water and infrastructure projects on a contract basis. The role will focus on civil design across flood risk, drainage, river engineering, flood alleviation schemes and reservoir projects, with flexible hybrid working available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing and delivering civil engineering packages for water and flood risk projects
- Providing technical input across drainage, river engineering and flood alleviation schemes
- Supporting the design and development of reservoir-related projects
- Leading or coordinating civil design packages from concept through to delivery
- Preparing technical reports, drawings, specifications and design documentation
- Working collaboratively with engineers, project teams, clients and external stakeholders
- Ensuring designs comply with relevant UK standards, regulations and project requirements
Job Requirements:
- Significant UK consultancy experience within civil engineering and the water sector
- Strong experience in the design of flood risk, drainage, river engineering or flood alleviation schemes
- Understanding of reservoir projects and water-related infrastructure
- Experience designing, leading or delivering civil design packages
- Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and report-writing abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary consultancy environment
- Availability to start in the near term, with the contract suitable for work inside or outside scope
