Role details:
We are looking for a DV Cleared Network Engineer to support our defence client on a contract basis. This contract role will focus on network infrastructure, security, service support and crypto management within a high-profile technical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated network support at the Stevenage site, with Bolton and Bristol also within scope.
- Support the effective delivery, maintenance and continuous improvement of network services.
- Own the remediation of identified network issues and risks, using reports and technical intelligence.
- Support business initiatives as part of the wider network engineering team.
- Build effective relationships with partners and external suppliers to optimise service delivery.
- Work with security teams on security reporting, risk analysis and network assurance.
- Collaborate with service management and network service teams to meet agreed requirements.
- Work with crypto network specialists on crypto management and technical support.
Job Requirements:
- Active DV Clearance.
- Professional background in information technology and network engineering.
- CCNA or CCNP qualification, or equivalent technical capability.
- Demonstrable crypto experience and a strong understanding of crypto best practice.
- Knowledge of Cisco Catalyst Center, Cisco ISE, Cisco best practice and Cisco Validated Designs.
- Strong understanding of the OSI model and network communication protocols, including HSRP, VRRP, HTTP/S, OSPF, BGP, SSL and TCP/IP.
- Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Linux, RHEL, VMware and vSphere, with exposure to Software-Defined Access principles and deployments.
- Understanding of authentication services, network cabling fundamentals and monitoring technologies such as Nagios, PRTG and SolarWinds.
