This is a head office role (Hybrid Working) in the Finance and Systems Transformation Team.

We are a business that operates in many countries across mainland Europe, as well as the U.K. and Republic of Ireland. Occasional work outside of normal U.K. working hours, may be necessary.

Main Purpose of Role:

The role reports to the Customer and Vendor Master Data Manager and will be cleansing supplier data where there is a critical dependency across different projects.

The master data management (MDM) team manages master data objects in the new ERP system (Oracle) and the wider landscape, ensuring that the data quality meets business operational needs. The MDM Analysts provide global specialism in maintenance of Customer and Supplier master data in business systems. They work closely with an offshore third-party data maintenance team to ensure master data quality is fit for purpose, respond appropriately to business master data requests and support the MDM Lead to embed the new function and ways of working.

The MDM Analyst will partner with business master data requesters, Global Process Owners, subject matter experts and the offshore third-party team to ensure that Customer and Supplier master data is maintained correctly in business systems. A key part of this will be to work closely with the offshore third-party team on a daily basis to help resolve issues and clarify ambiguities in business requests.

The MDM Analyst will also process master data requests from the business. This will involve triaging requests and ensuring that appropriate governance controls are executed, before maintaining master data in business systems or instructing the offshore third-party team to do so. This work will need to adhere to service level agreement timescales and MDM governance rules and standards.

The MDM Analyst will support the MDM Lead by executing actions to improve MDM processes and master data quality. This will often involve investigating issues, problem solving and suggesting improvement actions. The MDM Analyst will document processes and standards as required, as well as co-ordinating data cleansing activities to improve data quality.

Responsibilities:

  • The primary responsibility of this role will be to cleanse supplier data across all E markets and prioritised suppliers in anticipation of specific project go live dates. All are targeted for completion by the end of December 2026.
  • This role involves removing and merging duplicate suppliers as well enriching existing supplier data.
  • The work is being completed by a UK based team and the third-party MDM team, based in Noida, India. It is critical to the success of this project that the team collaborate and coordinate with each other.

Listed below are the responsibilities of the Business As Usual MDM Analysts, which include some activities likely to be required for the project work.

  • Act as the first E point of contact for the offshore third-party master data maintenance team.
  • Work with the offshore third-party team daily to ensure that MDM requests are being processed to meet the needs of the business.
  • Communicate master data issues to the offshore third-party data team as appropriate.
  • Provide support and guidance to the offshore third-party data team, particularly where there is ambiguity in business requests and requirements.
  • Manage MDM requests for Customer and Supplier-related master data, requiring additional co-ordination and decision making (for example, mass master data maintenance), ensuring that requests are processed according to service level agreement timescales and necessary governance controls.
  • Triage requests and determine the appropriate course of action according to business rules.
  • Maintain master data in business systems or instruct the offshore third-party team to carry out maintenance in line with rules and standards.
  • Train and onboard new business master data requesters and owners as required.
  • Support MDM Lead and offshore third-party data team to implement master data quality standards and processes to ensure data accuracy, consistency, completeness, and reliability.
  • Document master data processes to cover full lifecycle of activities, ensuring these are modified as the business evolves.
  • Consult and inform the offshore third-party data team regarding changes to ways of working, data rules and standards etc.
  • Work with MDM Lead, business SMEs and the offshore third-party team to review and improve master data processes.
  • Develop and implement master data validation checks and routines.
  • Ensure master data accuracy through systematic validation procedures.
  • Collaborate with external sources and partners for data enrichment where appropriate.
  • Assist in troubleshooting master data quality issues and anomalies.
  • Provide operational insights for master data improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate and execute master data cleansing routines.
  • Collaborate with data owners, requesters, subject matter experts and the offshore third-party data team to identify and resolve master data issues.
