Our client, a leading organisation in the defence and security sector, is seeking a Systems Proving Engineer to join its Integration and Systems Validation team in Bristol. This permanent role will support the proving, integration and validation of naval-based air defence systems, with opportunities to work across laboratory, ground, harbour, sea and firing trials in the UK and overseas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working with systems engineering and design teams to plan, generate and execute trials
  • Creating trials documentation and preparing, delivering and following up internal and external Trials Readiness Reviews
  • Ensuring appropriate trials data is acquired and supporting the investigation and resolution of design issues
  • Conducting post-trials data analysis and producing accurate technical reports
  • Supporting laboratory-based functional integration trials, system trials, ground trials, harbour trials, sea trials and firing trials
  • Assisting with laboratory management, including risk assessments, asset management, audits and laboratory safety
  • Maintaining hardware and software configuration control
  • Communicating effectively with internal teams, subcontractors, partners and suppliers at engineering and management level

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in systems engineering, systems integration, systems proving, design verification or a related engineering environment
  • Understanding of design proving, trials planning, system assessment and acceptance
  • Experience in one or more relevant areas, such as naval integration, missile test, interface design, electronic design and test, network integration, or electrical and mechanical interfacing
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret trials data and investigate technical issues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience of working with engineering teams, suppliers and external stakeholders
  • Knowledge of MBSE tools such as DOORS, Rhapsody or RTC would be beneficial
  • Experience of coding, particularly Python, would be advantageous

Additional Information:

  • The role is based in Bristol and requires a predominantly onsite working pattern of four to five days per week
  • Travel within the UK and overseas may be required
  • Applicants must be British citizens or dual UK nationals with British citizenship
  • Successful applicants will be required to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks after offer stage
