Our client, a Formula One Team within motorsport valley, is seeking a Quality Inspector for a contract opportunity. The role will support the Quality Control - Composites department by inspecting composite components, verifying manufacturing standards and helping ensure parts are released accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and sign off composite components at staged and final inspection points.
  • Carry out in-process checks to confirm parts meet engineering drawings, ply books, technical specifications and manufacturing requirements.
  • Inspect components prepared for bonding, including water break and R/A testing where required.
  • Operate the DSC machine, record test results and maintain accurate inspection documentation.
  • Check material and treatment documentation against route operations and technical specifications.
  • Update relevant records and systems, including Dynamics 365, before releasing work to the next operation.
  • Work closely with composite technicians, team leaders, design engineers, materials and laboratory teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Support continuous improvement, training and the development of effective inspection and manufacturing processes.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in quality inspection within composite manufacturing, motorsport, automotive or a similar engineering environment.
  • Strong understanding of composite materials, structures and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T symbols, ply books and detailed composite designs.
  • Ability to operate DCS machines.
  • Understanding of inspection standards, technical specifications, standard operating procedures and quality control requirements.
  • Good working knowledge of inspection equipment, testing processes and accurate record keeping.
  • Computer literate, with experience using Microsoft Office, Excel and ideally Dynamics 365.
  • Highly organised, detail-focused and able to work effectively to strict deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Clear communication skills, a collaborative approach and a willingness to share knowledge and support team development.
