Our client, a specialist technology and services business supporting financial services organisations, is seeking an EDM (Enterprise Data Management) Consultant to join its permanent, client-facing delivery function. This UK / EU remote role involves no travel and focuses on helping organisations reconcile, control and trust critical data across complex operating environments.
Working with stakeholders across Operations, Finance and Product Control, Data, Technology and Change, you will design and embed practical enterprise data management capabilities that improve governance, data quality, metadata, lineage and stewardship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead discovery and requirements workshops with business and technology stakeholders to understand data domains, pain points, controls and target outcomes
- Design and implement data governance, ownership models, stewardship workflows, metadata and lineage approaches
- Define business glossaries, critical data elements, policies, standards, controls and RACI operating model artefacts
- Drive data quality activities including profiling, rule definition, issue triage, remediation pathways, KPI reporting and continuous improvement
- Coordinate delivery across data engineering, architecture, risk, operations and PMO or change teams
- Produce clear client-ready documentation, including process flows, data flows, lineage views, governance packs and training materials
- Present delivery updates and recommendations to senior stakeholders and mixed technical and business audiences
- Support adoption and change through communications, enablement, training and the embedding of business-as-usual governance and controls
Job Requirements:
- Experience delivering enterprise data management or data governance initiatives in a consulting or client-facing environment
- Strong understanding of data governance and stewardship models, including ownership, accountability and operating models
- Knowledge of data quality concepts such as profiling, rules, monitoring, issue management and KPIs
- Understanding of metadata management, data cataloguing and data lineage documentation
- Awareness of master data concepts and key domains, including customer, product, supplier and location data
- Excellent facilitation, stakeholder management, technical writing and presentation skills
- A pragmatic delivery mindset, with the ability to structure ambiguous problems and drive decisions and outcomes
- Strong knowledge of data and big data concepts, with the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical teams
Desirable Skills:
- Experience working with financial services data, including banking, capital markets or investment management environments
- Familiarity with controls, reconciliations or books-and-records processes
- Exposure to enterprise data catalogues, governance suites, cloud-native governance tools or master data management platforms
- Understanding of change delivery and governance forums, including steering committees, design authorities, RAID and project governance
