A successful manufacturing business requires a Buyer to join it's dynamic procurement team. The Buyer will be responsible for day-today supplier relationship management and ensuring the effective flow of goods and materials to meet production plans.
The Buyer will work closely with internal stakeholders across quality, logistics, engineering, and finance, supporting continuous improvement initiatives and driving best practice in procurement and inventory management.
Specific duties of the Buyer include:
- Managing procurement activities across direct materials for manufacturing
- Planning, Scheduling and Re-scheduling of purchase orders
- Day-to-Day supplier relationship building and supplier orderbook management, expediting and mitigating risk
- Contribute towards procurement department savings and process improvement targets
- Ownership of purchasing, inventory and supplier data in MRP/ERP system
Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Previous purchasing, supply chain or materials control experience
- Experience working within a manufacturing or engineering business
- Familiar with using MRP/ERP systems
- Experience of improving supplier performance and relationships
- Commercial acumen, precise and ability to thrive in a fast-paced production manufacturing environment
