Our client is seeking an Associate, Associate Director or Technical Director-level Civil Engineering professional to join its growing Manchester team on a permanent basis. This strategically important role will focus on infrastructure and highways, with particular responsibility for business development, client relationship management and work winning across the Northern market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead business development activities across the North West and wider Northern region
  • Develop, maintain and strengthen relationships with existing and prospective clients
  • Identify and secure new project opportunities within the infrastructure, highways and civil engineering sectors
  • Support the preparation of bids, fee proposals and tender submissions
  • Act as a key client-facing representative across the region
  • Provide strategic input into the growth and development of the Manchester civil engineering business
  • Mentor and support technical teams where required
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver successful project outcomes

Job Requirements:

  • Significant experience within a civil engineering consultancy environment
  • Experience operating at Associate, Associate Director or Technical Director level, or readiness to progress into such a position
  • Proven track record in business development, client relationship management and successful work winning
  • Established network of clients, contacts and stakeholders across the Northern infrastructure or highways market
  • Demonstrable ability to generate opportunities and convert relationships into secured work
  • Strong commercial awareness and excellent stakeholder engagement skills
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation abilities
  • Chartered status with ICE or an equivalent professional body is preferred, although highly experienced professionals will also be considered
