Our client, a leading company in the Transmission and Distribution (T & D) sector, is currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a contract basis. This role plays a critical part in managing the financial and commercial aspects of major projects aimed at enhancing the electrical grid infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing all aspects of quantity surveying on large-scale T & D projects
- Managing project budgets, forecasting costs, and ensuring financial control
- Preparing detailed reports and contractual documents
- Assessing and managing commercial risks associated with projects
- Providing expert advice on contract and commercial issues
- Negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve cost-effective project solutions
- Ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards
- Collaborating closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure successful project delivery
Job Requirements:
- Significant experience in quantity surveying within the T & D or related sectors
- Strong commercial acumen and excellent negotiation skills
- Proficiency in using quantity surveying software and tools
- Understanding of contract law and standard forms of contract
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Relevant degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
