HSE Manager - Defence Maritime, SC Cleared

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

1. Working closely with the Building Custodian(s) and the project refurbishment Principal Contractor, the resource will be required to:
2. Develop and apply local OHSE policy and guidance, ensuring this aligns with legislative, regulatory, corporate policy, and Naval Base requirements.
3. Review refurbishment works Principal Contractor and sub-contractor(s) OHSE arrangements to ensure compliance of activities to BASO and MOD expectations.
4. Verification of contractor competence and induction arrangements under MOD 4Cs requirements.
5. Monitor temporary works and welfare arrangements.
6. Monitor exposure to Noise, Vibration, and dust, fumes.
7. Verify and monitor contractor PUWER compliance arrangements.
8. Monitor interface risks between SBO activities, refurbishment works, and other site activities to ensure arrangements are ALARP.
9. Undertake 1^st Line of Defence (1LOD) assurance activities, issuing reports and tracking actions through to completion.
10. Provide competent OHSE advice and guidance such as (but not limited to) safe systems of work, contractor OHSE management, risk assessment, transport and pedestrian management, asbestos/legionella management, MHE and warehousing operations, workshop activities, psychological health, sustainability, waste, conservation and pollution control.
11. Support the Building Custodian control over the Fire Risk Assessment and Fire Orders including drills and testing
12. Deliver OHSE Subject Matter Expert (SME) support to committees and management boards (as appropriate), such as compliance status, incident management, statistics/trend analysis, performance indicator assessments and audit outcomes.
13. Develop and promote a positive OHSE culture through seeking ways to engage the business including co-ordinating and facilitating local, corporate, and contractor initiatives.
