Commercial Manager (Permanent) - Hamina, Finland
Overview:
A global mission-critical / major projects delivery organisation is hiring a Commercial Manager to support a major programme in Hamina, Finland. This is a permanent, full-time position with travel & accommodation provided and a monthly subsistence allowance.
Location / Working pattern:
- Primary base: Hamina, Finland (primarily onsite)
- Hybrid/rotation available from: Ireland, UK, Spain, Netherlands (where the business has entities)
- Rotation plan to be agreed (flexible)
Salary & package:
- Salary: €75,000-€95,000 / £55,000-£70,000 DOE
- Subsistence: €1,100 net per month
- Travel & accommodation: Provided
Key responsibilities (typical duties):
- Support commercial delivery across one or more workstreams/packages (civils, MEP, fit-out, specialist systems depending on project phase).
- Contract administration support (ideally NEC exposure): notices, early warnings/risks, change control, instructions, and maintaining a live change register.
- Subcontract / supply-chain commercial management:
- assisting with package procurement, bid comparisons and contract placement
- subcontractor valuations, payment recommendations, and cost control
- managing variations and assisting with final account activities
- Project cost reporting:
- forecasts, cost-to-complete, cashflow tracking and monthly reporting packs
- support commercial governance routines and internal approvals
- Stakeholder management:
- interface with project management, planning, construction and procurement teams
- assist with client-facing commercial updates where required
- Support dispute avoidance through record keeping, contemporaneous notes, and substantiation.
Required experience / profile:
- Experience in a commercial role on large construction/infrastructure/mission-critical projects (junior through experienced level).
- Contract and cost management capability; NEC3/NEC4 exposure strongly preferred.
- Comfortable working primarily onsite in Finland (with rotation/hybrid as agreed).
- EU passport / EU right-to-work preferred (where applicable).
Desirable:
- Data centre / mission-critical / industrial build experience.
- Strong Excel and commercial reporting capability.
- Prior experience working away / on international projects.
