Our client is seeking a Senior Highways Engineer to join its highways and transport planning team on a contract basis. The role will focus on highways design and infrastructure projects, including the delivery of Section 278 and Section 38 agreements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing highways designs for infrastructure and development projects
- Preparing and reviewing technical drawings, reports and design documentation
- Working on Section 278 and Section 38 highway agreements
- Co-ordinating with clients, local authorities, contractors and other project stakeholders
- Providing technical guidance and reviewing highways design proposals
- Supporting the successful delivery of projects from concept through to construction
- Ensuring designs comply with relevant highways standards, regulations and specifications
Job Requirements:
- Significant experience in highways engineering and infrastructure design
- Strong understanding of highway design principles and relevant standards
- Practical experience with Section 278 and Section 38 agreements
- Ability to produce and review technical highways drawings and reports
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a multidisciplinary team
- Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent professional experience
