Our client, a leading engineering consultancy in the highways sector, is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer for a contract opportunity. The role will involve supporting the delivery of infrastructure projects, providing technical expertise across the planning, design and construction stages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and delivering civil engineering designs for highways and infrastructure projects
- Preparing technical reports, drawings, specifications and design documentation
- Providing technical guidance and support to project teams and junior engineers
- Contributing to the assessment, design and improvement of transport infrastructure
- Coordinating with clients, contractors, consultants and project stakeholders
- Reviewing designs to ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations and project requirements
- Supporting project planning, risk management and successful delivery within agreed timescales
Job Requirements:
- Significant experience in civil engineering within the highways or infrastructure sector
- Strong knowledge of highway design principles, standards and construction methodologies
- Experience delivering civil engineering designs from concept through to construction
- Understanding of infrastructure project processes, technical approvals and health and safety requirements
- Proficiency in relevant design and engineering software
- Strong technical report writing, communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders
- Relevant civil engineering degree or equivalent professional qualification
