Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager or Programme Manager to lead the safe and compliant delivery of rail civils projects across the Glasgow region. This contract opportunity offers the chance to manage multiple work packages while supporting client relationships, identifying future opportunities and contributing to the growth of the regional rail infrastructure portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of a portfolio of rail civils and rail infrastructure projects across Scotland
- Manage project planning, programmes and resources, including labour, plant and subcontractors
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, compliantly and right first time
- Manage client relationships and coordinate progress updates, issue resolution and stakeholder communications
- Monitor commercial performance, including forecasting, progress tracking, variations and change control
- Support and mentor Site Managers, Engineers and Supervisors to maintain consistent delivery and reporting standards
- Identify upcoming work, early contractor involvement opportunities and potential areas for added value
- Contribute practical delivery insight to tenders and bids, including methodologies, programmes, resourcing, risks and constraints
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Project Manager or Programme Manager within rail civils or rail infrastructure
- Experience managing multiple concurrent work packages or projects
- Strong understanding of site delivery, programme management and stakeholder coordination in a rail environment
- Commercial awareness, including experience contributing to forecasting, change management and pre-construction activities
- Confidence leading regional delivery and acting as a senior point of contact for clients and project teams
- Clear communication skills with an organised and calm approach under pressure
- Relevant rail competencies, including PTS Civils, would be beneficial
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across Scotland as required
