Plant, Tool & Gauge Engineer - 12 month contract - Glascoed, Monmouthshire - £31.48 ph UMB or £23.48 ph PAYE (Inside IR35)
The Umbrella rate quoted above is the Gross Umbrella rate (i.e. the rate we pay to the Umbrella Company inclusive of ALL employment costs). The Role
The requirement will be to support the senior future programmes design engineer for development and resilience programmes with the preparation of models and drawings for various pieces of customised equipment.
Role Responsibilities:
Not limited to…
- Production of engineering drawings and bills of materials in support of site engineering programmes.
- Correct application of BS 8888 and ISO9001. In accordance with internal sign off procedures.
- Correct application of materials and tolerances for the purposes of form fit and function.
- Liaising with Product, Process and Manufacturing engineers to support their process and equipment requirements.
What are BAE Systems looking for from you?
- Knowledge and complete understanding of BS 8888 and ISO9001.
- A broad knowledge of engineering materials and material properties, manufacturing process and application.
- Understanding and appreciation for suitable GD and T tolerances.
- Knowledge of stock components, fasteners, pneumatic, hydraulic, vacuum and/or food industry pipework, valves, fittings etc.
- Previous Drawing Office experience is essential.
- A "hands on" or appreciation for one off and batch production manufacturing processes.
- Application of basic machining and fabrication techniques.
- Drawing Experience of precision equipment gauges, fixtures for production processes, hand tools, press tooling, assembly jigs etc.
- Drawing experience of fabricated components and assemblies e.g. weld assemblies, sheet metal work etc.
- HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or related subject.
Security Requirements: SC
This role will require the person to hold full Security Clearance (SC) prior to working onsite. You will need to obtain a BPSS check as part of this process. You must currently hold or be eligible and willing to obtain SC and you must be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship and have lived and worked in the UK for a minimum 5 year period.
