Our client is seeking a Team Leader - Signals & Telecoms to lead safety-critical inspection, faulting, maintenance and renewal activities across railway signalling assets. This permanent role combines technical signalling expertise with team leadership to ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with Network Rail standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Directing and organising daily team activities to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of work
- Establishing and maintaining appropriate safety arrangements and safe systems of work
- Leading by example and promoting a strong safety culture
- Managing work quality, asset compliance and team competence
- Overseeing signalling control systems, track circuits, point machines and mechanical and electrical signalling equipment
- Ensuring vehicles, tools, plant, equipment and materials are safe and fit for purpose
- Producing operational, performance and compliance reports
- Working hands-on with the team when required and supporting the delivery of maintenance and renewal activities
Job Requirements:
- Experience of organising and controlling the safe and efficient delivery of work
- Knowledge of signalling inspection, faulting, maintenance and renewal techniques
- SMTH competence or relevant signalling maintenance expertise
- Working knowledge of relevant railway standards, procedures and instructions, including NR/L3/SIG/10663 and NR/L3/SIG/11231
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and influence a team
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment to safe working behaviours and quality assurance
- NVQ Level 2 or 3, or equivalent qualification or experience, in a relevant discipline would be advantageous
- Ability and willingness to drive vehicles where required by business needs
Working Arrangements:
- Safety-critical role involving days, nights, weekends and on-call working
- Compliance with location and business response time requirements
- Subject to medical assessment and drug and alcohol testing
