Our client is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to support rail infrastructure works associated with Liverpool Baltic Station. This contract role will focus on HVAC station design, delivering robust mechanical engineering solutions that meet project, safety and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and reviewing HVAC designs for station and rail infrastructure projects
- Producing mechanical design calculations, specifications, drawings and technical documentation
- Co-ordinating mechanical designs with architectural, structural, electrical and operational requirements
- Ensuring designs comply with relevant rail, building services, health and safety standards
- Supporting design reviews, technical meetings and project delivery activities
- Working with project teams, contractors and stakeholders to resolve technical issues
- Reviewing design changes and providing engineering solutions throughout the project lifecycle
Job Requirements:
- Significant experience in mechanical engineering and building services design
- Strong experience in HVAC design, ideally within rail, transport or complex infrastructure environments
- Knowledge of station design, ventilation, heating and cooling systems
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical requirements
- Understanding of relevant rail, construction and building services standards
- Strong design co-ordination, problem-solving and technical report writing skills
- Proficiency in relevant mechanical design software and computer-aided design tools
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary project team
