A growing advanced electronics manufacturing business supplying high-specification products to a diverse customer base is seeking a Buyer to join its Supply Chain team in the Cwmbran area.
The Buyer will be responsible for managing supplier performance, material availability, and procurement activities to support operational requirements and customer demand. Working closely with Planning, Operations, and Engineering teams, the successful candidate will help ensure the efficient flow of materials while driving cost, quality, and delivery performance.
Key responsibilities of the Buyer include:
- Manage supplier relationships to achieve quality, cost, delivery, and service objectives.
- Raise and manage purchase orders in line with business requirements.
- Monitor supplier performance and expedite critical materials where required.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and commercial terms.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks to maintain continuity of supply.
- Support inventory optimisation and working capital objectives.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure material availability aligns with customer and operational requirements.
- Maintain accurate procurement data within the ERP/MRP system.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Proven experience in a Buyer, Purchasing, Procurement, or Supply Chain role.
- Experience within a manufacturing, electronics, engineering, or technical environment.
- Strong supplier management and negotiation skills.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and inventory management principles.
- Excellent communication, organisation, relationship-building and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.
