Our client is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of permanent water infrastructure projects. Working within the water and utilities sector, the role will involve providing mechanical engineering expertise across the full project lifecycle, from design and procurement through to installation, commissioning and handover.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering mechanical engineering activities across water and wastewater infrastructure projects
- Reviewing designs, specifications and technical documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements
- Co-ordinating mechanical installations, commissioning activities and project handovers
- Working closely with project managers, subcontractors, suppliers and site teams
- Monitoring progress, quality and technical performance throughout project delivery
- Supporting the preparation of project programmes, risk assessments and technical reports
- Ensuring all works comply with relevant health and safety, environmental and industry standards
- Providing technical solutions to engineering challenges and supporting continuous improvement
Job Requirements:
- Experience in mechanical project engineering within the water, utilities, construction or infrastructure sector
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, equipment installation and commissioning
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation
- Knowledge of project delivery processes, health and safety requirements and quality standards
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Effective planning, organisation and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively across office, site and project environments
- Relevant mechanical engineering qualification or equivalent industry experience
