Welder Opportunities | Glasgow
Be part of one of the UK's most significant naval shipbuilding programmes, contributing to the delivery of world-class Type 26 frigates. You'll work alongside highly skilled teams, applying your welding expertise to complex engineering projects that support national security while building a rewarding long-term career.
What You'll Be Doing
- Welding carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminium using MMA, MIG, MAG, FCAW, Submerged Arc and BUG-O processes.
- Producing high-quality butt and fillet welds to exacting standards.
- Carrying out self-inspection and verification to ensure weld quality and compliance.
- Following safe working practices and SHE requirements at all times.
- Working within a skilled production environment delivering complex shipbuilding activities.
What We're Looking For
- Modern Apprenticeship / Trade Papers (required and must be provided with your application).
- Relevant qualifications such as SVQ3, City & Guilds, or equivalent.
- Experience in FCAW, metal-cored and ceramic tile welding techniques.
- Ability to consistently achieve welds that meet visual inspection and NDE standards.
- Experience welding carbon steel materials between 4mm and 15mm thickness.
- Background within shipbuilding, maritime, manufacturing, construction, or other heavy engineering environments.
