Lead the Design of the Next Generation of Offshore Wind Foundations


Are you an experienced structural engineer with a strong background in offshore wind foundations and a passion for leading engineering teams?
We are working with a highly regarded engineering organisation delivering complex offshore wind projects globally. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Design Manager / Lead Structural Engineer to drive the design and delivery of primary and secondary steel structures for offshore wind turbine foundations.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically strong engineer with leadership experience who is looking to play a key role in some of the industry's most challenging and innovative offshore wind developments.

The Role


As the Design Manager / Lead Structural Engineer, you will provide technical leadership across foundation design projects, oversee engineering teams, and ensure the successful delivery of structural solutions from concept and FEED through to detailed design.
You will work closely with clients, project managers, fabrication teams, certification bodies, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop safe, efficient and commercially viable foundation solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the structural design of offshore wind turbine foundations.
  • Oversee the design and verification of both primary and secondary steel structures.
  • Manage and mentor a team of structural engineers and designers.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities across international projects.
  • Review and approve calculations, reports, specifications, and design deliverables.
  • Interface with clients, fabricators, installation contractors, and certification authorities.
  • Support design reviews, risk assessments, and technical decision-making processes.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in foundation design methodologies.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in structural engineering.
  • Strong experience in offshore wind foundation design.
  • Proven technical leadership and project delivery experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of primary and secondary steel design.
  • Experience working on monopile, jacket, offshore substation, or similar offshore structures.
  • Strong understanding of offshore design codes and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
