Site Supervisor - Blackwall Tunnel Southbound Refurbishment Project
Location: Blackwall Tunnel, London
Rate: £350 per night (Umbrella PAYE)
Duration: 12 months
Shift Pattern: Nights & Weekends
The Opportunity
We are seeking experienced Site Supervisors to join the Blackwall Tunnel Southbound Refurbishment Project, supporting the delivery of a major tunnel infrastructure upgrade programme.
This role will involve supervising specialist subcontractors and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with programme requirements. Due to the nature of the scheme, the majority of works will be undertaken during night shifts and weekends, attracting the higher end of the advertised pay rate.
Project Scope
Key elements of the project include:
- Replacement and upgrade of existing Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) equipment by specialist subcontractors.
- Concrete repair works to the tunnel sub-structure and carriageway.
- Carriageway waterproofing and resurfacing works.
- Replacement of tunnel lining panels.
- Additional refurbishment and maintenance works throughout the tunnel asset.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily site operations and subcontractor activities.
- Ensure works are carried out safely and in compliance with Health & Safety legislation.
- Monitor progress against programme and report on site performance.
- Conduct site briefings, inductions and toolbox talks.
- Ensure quality standards and project specifications are met.
- Maintain accurate site records and daily reports.
- Coordinate with project management teams and specialist contractors.
- Promote a positive safety culture across the project.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Site Supervisor on highways, tunnelling, civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations and site supervision duties.
- Experience managing subcontractors and multiple work fronts.
- SSSTS or SMSTS preferred.
- CSCS Card.
- Ability to work nights and weekends on a regular basis.
