Our client, operating within the energy transmission and distribution sector, is seeking an Environment & Sustainability Manager for a permanent role (9-12 month maternity cover). Based from home with regular site visits and office attendance, the role will support environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives and responsible project delivery across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing environmental and sustainability strategies aligned with business objectives
- Monitoring environmental performance and supporting continuous improvement across energy and transmission and distribution projects
- Ensuring compliance with relevant environmental legislation, permits, standards and industry requirements
- Preparing environmental reports, assessments, policies and sustainability documentation
- Supporting environmental inspections, audits, risk assessments and site-based improvement plans
- Providing guidance to project teams, managers, contractors and other stakeholders on environmental matters
- Promoting sustainable working practices, resource efficiency and effective environmental management
- Attending project sites and the office as required to support operational and sustainability objectives
Job Requirements:
- Experience in environmental management and sustainability within the energy, utilities, construction or infrastructure sector
- Strong understanding of environmental legislation, compliance requirements and sustainability principles
- Ability to develop practical environmental strategies and sustainability improvement plans
- Experience conducting audits, inspections, risk assessments and environmental reviews
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong report-writing, organisational and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently from home while collaborating effectively with project and operational teams
- Willingness to travel to sites and attend the office when required
