Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with local authorities, utility providers, contractors, suppliers, and other key stakeholders throughout project delivery.
- Lead procurement activities for major equipment and long-lead items, including commercial negotiations.
- Coordinate with internal project teams to ensure regulatory and planning requirements are met.
- Manage tendering processes and contract negotiations for engineering, procurement, construction, and infrastructure-related scopes.
- Oversee contractor performance throughout the construction and commissioning phases.
- Take ownership of project budgets, programmes, and delivery schedules.
- Identify and manage project risks and opportunities.
- Provide regular progress updates and reporting to senior management.
- Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with health, safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in project management within construction, infrastructure, renewable energy, or related sectors.
- Proven experience delivering utility-scale energy or infrastructure projects.
- Strong contract management and commercial negotiation experience, including industry-standard contract frameworks.
- Recognised Project Management qualification (PMP, PRINCE2, APM, or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation and construction regulations.
- Relevant health and safety qualifications (NEBOSH, IOSH, SMSTS, or equivalent).
- Experience managing EPC contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Proficiency with project management and reporting software, including Microsoft Office and similar project-planning tools.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working directly for an EPC contractor or renewable energy developer.
- Previous involvement in solar, battery storage, power generation, or energy infrastructure projects.
- Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering background.
- Experience delivering projects from development through to commissioning.
