Our client is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to support mission-critical data centre fit-out projects in Austria or Belgium. The role focuses on the testing, validation and handover of ICT infrastructure and electronic security systems across hyperscale data centre sites. This is a full-time, permanent position operating on a 10/4 rotation pattern, with ten days on site followed by four days off.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute end-to-end commissioning and validation of ICT networks, including high-count fibre, MTP/MPO and copper cabling systems
- Test and validate electronic security systems, including CCTV, access control and perimeter intrusion detection
- Carry out OTDR testing, insertion loss measurements, bit error rate testing and point-to-point validation on high-density cabling systems
- Verify the integration of security platforms such as CCURE, Genetec, Lenel, AMAG and Axis with Building Management Systems
- Lead and support Level 1 to Level 5 commissioning activities, including Integrated Systems Testing interfaces
- Prepare commissioning scripts, test reports, snagging lists and client handover documentation
- Witness contractor and vendor testing while representing Our client at daily commissioning meetings
- Ensure all work complies with risk assessments, method statements, IPAF standards, confined space protocols and relevant project requirements
Job Requirements:
- Significant commissioning experience within mission-critical data centres, telecommunications infrastructure or similarly complex technical environments
- Strong understanding of data centre ICT infrastructure, structured cabling and electronic security systems
- Proficiency with fibre optic testing equipment, including Fluke Versiv, EXFO and VIAVI OTDRs
- Knowledge of enterprise access control and security systems, with manufacturer experience in platforms such as Lenel, CCURE, Genetec, AMAG or Axis
- IPAF certification and relevant manufacturer or industry qualifications, such as BICSI/RCDD, are advantageous
- Fluent written and spoken English
- German language skills for projects in Austria, or French and Dutch language skills for projects in Belgium, would be beneficial
- Willingness to work on a 10/4 rotation and travel to project sites across Austria and Belgium
- Valid passport and authorisation to work within the European Union
