Our client is seeking an Electrical Commissioning Engineer to support water infrastructure projects on a contract basis. The role will involve commissioning, testing and inspecting electrical systems across operational water-sector sites, ensuring that installations are safe, compliant and ready for service. Previous experience within the water sector is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Commissioning electrical systems and equipment across water treatment and infrastructure projects
  • Carrying out electrical testing, inspections and functional checks
  • Reviewing commissioning documentation, test results and project records
  • Identifying faults and supporting the resolution of electrical and commissioning issues
  • Working closely with project, engineering and site teams to meet commissioning requirements
  • Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with health and safety procedures and relevant industry standards
  • Supporting the safe handover of completed electrical installations

Job Requirements:

  • Previous electrical commissioning experience within the water sector
  • Strong electrical engineering knowledge and practical commissioning skills
  • Valid CSCS card
  • Experience of electrical testing and inspection is desirable
  • Understanding of site health and safety requirements
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications and commissioning documentation
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to fault finding
  • Ability to work effectively with contractors, engineers and wider project teams
