Senior Civil Engineer - Land Development

Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Civil Engineer to join a growing multidisciplinary Land Development team delivering some of the UK's most complex and high-profile infrastructure, defence, energy and development projects.
This role offers the chance to work on major national programmes including nuclear infrastructure, defence frameworks, renewable energy developments, large-scale residential schemes and mixed-use regeneration projects.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering technical design solutions, leading project delivery teams and mentoring junior engineers while working within a collaborative and innovative engineering environment.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and delivering civil engineering design packages on a range of multidisciplinary projects.
This position offers excellent career progression opportunities and would suit an experienced Senior Civil Engineer or an Engineer approaching Chartership looking to step into a more senior role with increased responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate civil engineering design delivery on multidisciplinary projects.
- Produce, review and approve technical deliverables including reports, specifications, calculations and drawings.
- Deliver designs in areas including:
- Drainage
- Utilities
- Earthworks
- Access roads
- Pavements and external works
- Construction logistics
- Collaborate with project managers and technical teams to ensure projects are delivered on programme and within budget.
- Liaise with clients and stakeholders throughout project delivery.
- Mentor and support junior engineers and technicians.
- Contribute to bid and tender submissions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant design standards, CDM regulations and health & safety requirements.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams across various offices to deliver integrated engineering solutions.
- Maintain quality assurance standards through checking and reviewing design outputs.
Requirements
Essential
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience within a design consultancy environment.
- Strong technical understanding of:
- Drainage design
- Utilities
- Earthworks
- Development infrastructure
- External works
- Experience coordinating and delivering civil engineering design projects.
- Knowledge of relevant design codes, standards and CDM regulations.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical delivery.
Desirable
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status.
- Working towards professional accreditation.
- Experience within energy, defence or major infrastructure sectors.
- Proficiency in software such as:
- Civil 3D
- InfoDrainage
- Causeway Flow
- Full UK Driving Licence.
