Our client is seeking a Scheme Delivery Manager to join its highways maintenance team in the East of England. This permanent role will oversee the delivery of highway maintenance and improvement schemes, supporting the safe movement of people while ensuring projects are completed to high standards of safety, quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing delivery resources to ensure the successful completion of construction and highways maintenance schemes
- Overseeing health, safety, environmental and quality requirements in line with company and regulatory standards
- Working with the Programme Manager and client to establish annual and contractor plans, delivering against agreed commitments
- Managing the delivery phase of the schemes programme and allocating resources to maximise utilisation and maintain programme consistency
- Undertaking design surveys and early contractor involvement meetings to agree work values and inform commercial target costs
- Reviewing and agreeing applications for payment in line with commercial targets
- Co-ordinating operational teams and supporting the effective delivery of carriageway, footway and wider highway improvement works
Job Requirements:
- Experience in managing construction scheme resources and operational delivery teams
- Experience of structural maintenance schemes, including carriageway and footway resurfacing, surface dressing and associated treatments
- Experience as a new roads and street works supervisor
- SMSTS qualification
- Relevant academic qualification in construction, civil engineering or project management
- Knowledge of Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual
- Working understanding of Microsoft 365, Asta and Confirm
- Strong team-working, communication and interpersonal skills
