Role details:
Our client is seeking a Configuration & Data Manager to support defence and aerospace programmes in Luton. This predominantly onsite, 12-month contract role will oversee the identification, control, protection and traceability of engineering and programme data throughout the full product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver data management activities in accordance with approved Data Management Plans.
  • Ensure engineering and programme data is correctly identified, structured, versioned, approved and traceable.
  • Maintain accurate data status, integrity and visibility across programme data sets.
  • Apply naming conventions, metadata, version control and lifecycle states using approved data management and document control tools.
  • Support the creation, tailoring, implementation and maintenance of Data Management Plans.
  • Apply security classification, protective marking, export control and access requirements to programme data.
  • Provide data status reports, metrics and audit evidence, supporting the resolution of findings and corrective actions.
  • Work closely with configuration, engineering, quality and programme teams to support release milestones and continuous improvement.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in data management within defence, aerospace or another highly regulated industry.
  • Strong understanding of data lifecycle control, document management and information governance.
  • Experience working to Data Management Plans, organisational procedures and contractual requirements.
  • Understanding of configuration management, change control and the integration of data management processes.
  • Experience handling sensitive, classified or export-controlled information.
  • High attention to detail, strong organisational skills and a methodical approach to work.
  • Understanding of, or willingness to learn about, cryptographic data security.
  • Familiarity with PLM and document management tools, audit support and compliance activities would be advantageous.
