Our client, a growing business within the energy transmission and distribution sector, is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of renewable energy projects in Yorkshire. The role will involve end-to-end cost management across solar installations, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and upgrade and refurbishment projects valued from £10,000 to £2.2 million.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the commercial delivery of renewable energy, solar and BESS projects
- Managing project costs from initial estimating and tendering through to final account
- Preparing cost plans, valuations, forecasts and commercial reports
- Monitoring project expenditure, budgets and financial performance
- Working with NEC and FIDIC contract forms
- Providing commercial support to project teams, subcontractors and suppliers
- Identifying cost risks and supporting effective commercial decision-making
- Working closely with the Graduate Engineer and Commercial Director
Job Requirements:
- Understanding of quantity surveying and commercial management principles
- Experience supporting construction, engineering, energy or infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of NEC and FIDIC contracts
- Ability to manage project costs from commencement through to completion
- Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and negotiation abilities
- Excellent attention to detail and organised approach to work
- Relevant degree, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in quantity surveying, commercial management, engineering or a related discipline
