Our client, a leading organisation in the technology sector, is seeking an IT Project Manager for a contract opportunity. The role will support complex technology transition and delivery programmes, including data centre moves, customer exit projects and multi-party systems testing. The successful IT Project Manager will bring strong project management, Azure and stakeholder management experience, with the ability to coordinate suppliers, technical teams and client stakeholders towards fixed delivery milestones.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and manage detailed plans across multiple projects, ensuring critical paths, milestones, dependencies, resources and effort provisions are clearly defined and maintained.
- Lead planning, re-planning, float management, deconfliction, critical path reporting and progress updates across complex programme activity.
- Facilitate internal stand-ups, sprint ceremonies, checkpoints and complex multi-party systems testing to maintain delivery momentum.
- Manage RAID logs, project change processes, impact assessments, quality gateways, governance meetings and associated mitigation actions.
- Coordinate internal teams, suppliers and external project managers, ensuring mobilisation plans and key delivery milestones remain aligned.
- Ensure project products and documentation follow configuration management, change management and review processes, with records maintained in the master document register.
- Provide internal progress reporting and support agreed external reporting, escalating risks and milestone concerns with suitable recovery plans.
- Manage the Project Coordinator, support programme-level planning and governance, and maintain effective communication with technical teams, suppliers and client stakeholders.
Job Requirements:
- Significant experience in IT project management across large, complex programmes with multiple critical paths and extended delivery plans.
- Experience of data centre moves, demobilisation or customer exit projects within a technology environment.
- Strong project management skills, with experience of working across both waterfall and agile delivery environments.
- Experience facilitating complex systems testing and driving third-party engagement for testing and cutover activities.
- Knowledge of Azure and a strong IT background, with the ability to work effectively with technical teams and developers.
- Experience managing multiple projects within a programme environment, including supply-side project management and supplier mobilisation.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including experience working with public sector and non-technical client stakeholders.
- Experience managing project coordinators or junior project managers, leading delivery teams and working towards fixed go-live dates. CTC clearance would be advantageous.
