Our client, a leading organisation in the water infrastructure sector, is seeking a Project Manager to support civil engineering works in Whitehaven. This is an initial six-month contract, with the potential for ongoing work, and the successful individual may also undertake Site Manager responsibilities where required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the delivery of civil engineering projects within the water infrastructure sector
  • Co-ordinating site activities, subcontractors, suppliers and project teams
  • Overseeing programme, quality, health and safety requirements
  • Supporting or undertaking Site Manager duties as required
  • Monitoring project progress and addressing operational issues effectively
  • Ensuring temporary works are planned, managed and delivered safely
  • Maintaining accurate project records and communicating updates to relevant stakeholders

Job Requirements:

  • Experience managing civil engineering projects, ideally within water or utility infrastructure
  • Ability to operate effectively as both a Project Manager and Site Manager
  • Strong understanding of construction health and safety requirements
  • Valid SMSTS certification
  • Knowledge of temporary works procedures and management
  • Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to co-ordinate multiple activities and maintain project momentum
  • Availability to start as soon as possible
