Overview

We are seeking a talented Antenna Engineer to join a growing engineering team developing advanced RF and communication systems for challenging aerospace, defence, and autonomous platform applications.

This is an opportunity to work across the full antenna development lifecycle, from concept and simulation through to testing, integration, and qualification. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design and development of high-performance antennas and RF solutions deployed in demanding real-world environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and optimise antenna solutions for airborne, maritime and land-based applications.
  • Perform electromagnetic modelling and simulation using industry-standard tools.
  • Develop antenna architectures to meet challenging performance, size, weight and environmental requirements.
  • Conduct antenna measurements and validation activities, including anechoic chamber testing.
  • Support RF system integration, troubleshooting and performance optimisation.
  • Analyse and interpret test data, producing technical reports and recommendations.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including RF, electronics, mechanical, systems and software engineers.
  • Support product development through concept, prototyping, verification and production phases.
  • Contribute to design reviews, technical presentations and customer discussions.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, regulations and qualification requirements.

Required Experience

  • Degree qualified in Electronic Engineering, Communications Engineering, Physics or a related discipline.
  • Experience in antenna design and development within a commercial, aerospace, defence or communications environment.
  • Strong understanding of electromagnetic theory and RF principles.
  • Experience using antenna simulation and modelling tools such as CST Studio Suite, HFSS, FEKO or similar.
  • Knowledge of antenna measurement techniques and RF test equipment.
  • Understanding of impedance matching, radiation patterns, gain, efficiency and polarisation.
  • Experience analysing RF performance and troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience with SATCOM, telemetry, datalinks, GNSS, electronic warfare or radar systems.
  • Knowledge of airborne or unmanned systems applications.
  • Experience working within highly regulated engineering environments.
  • Familiarity with environmental qualification standards and testing.
  • Understanding of RF front-end design and system-level integration.
  • Experience supporting products from prototype through to manufacture.
