Our client, an established consultancy operating across the geo-environmental and ground investigation sectors, is seeking a Senior Geo-Environmental Engineer to join its Greater Manchester office on a permanent basis. This is an opportunity for a technically capable professional with a strong geology background to manage projects, support business development and contribute to the growth of a successful consultancy team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, coordinate and oversee ground investigation and geo-environmental projects from tender stage through to completion
  • Manage project delivery, budgets, timescales, contracts and commercial performance
  • Prepare and review desk studies, factual reports, interpretative assessments and other technical documentation
  • Provide technical input into tenders, quotations and pre-qualification questionnaires
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients and identify new business opportunities
  • Support the delivery of high standards in health and safety, environmental protection and quality assurance
  • Mentor and support engineers, junior staff and site-based teams
  • Contribute to the continual improvement of business processes and professional services

Job Requirements:

  • Significant experience in ground investigation, geo-environmental consultancy or a related discipline
  • Degree qualification in Geology, Engineering Geology, Environmental Science, Geotechnical Engineering or a related subject
  • Strong understanding of geology, contaminated land and ground conditions
  • Experience producing technical and interpretative geo-environmental reports
  • Proven project management and client liaison abilities
  • Commercial awareness, strong organisation and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building and problem-solving skills
  • Chartered status with the Geological Society, or a commitment to working towards Chartership
