Our client, one of the biggest local authorities in the highways sector, is seeking a Minor Works Project Manager / Engineer to support the delivery of highway improvement and maintenance projects. This contract opportunity is suited to a project manager or engineer with practical experience in minor works and an ability to coordinate projects from planning through to completion. An ASAP start is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing the delivery of minor works projects within the highways sector
- Coordinating contractors, engineering teams and other project stakeholders
- Monitoring project progress, quality, health and safety, and compliance
- Reviewing scope, programmes, resources and project requirements
- Providing technical and project management support throughout the works
- Preparing project updates, reports and relevant documentation
- Identifying project risks and supporting effective mitigation measures
Job Requirements:
- Experience in minor works project management or highways engineering
- Strong understanding of highway construction, maintenance and improvement works
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and coordinate delivery to agreed programmes
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements within highways projects
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Good organisational, problem-solving and reporting abilities
- Availability for an ASAP start
