Our client is seeking a Senior Cost Engineer to support the reporting, forecasting and financial control of a major nuclear programme at Sizewell C. This permanent role will suit an experienced cost professional with a strong background in cost management and project controls within complex infrastructure environments. This is a hybrid role based out of London but will require the individual to travel to Ipswich every other week.
You will need to be eligible to obtain a level of security clearnace for the role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing project cost reporting, forecasting and budget control
- Preparing accurate financial reports and performance analysis for senior stakeholders
- Supporting cost assurance activities and identifying financial risks, trends and opportunities
- Monitoring expenditure against approved budgets, forecasts and project objectives
- Working closely with project controls teams to maintain robust cost management processes
- Providing clear cost information and insight across a large, complex programme
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and engaging effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Job Requirements:
- Significant experience in cost engineering, cost management or project controls
- Strong expertise in cost reporting, forecasting and budget management
- Experience in cost assurance and project performance analysis
- Understanding of financial reporting on major projects and complex programmes
- Experience working alongside project controls teams
- Ability to interpret and communicate financial data clearly to multidisciplinary stakeholders
- Experience within nuclear, energy, rail, aviation, utilities, highways, defence or another major infrastructure sector
- Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills
