Procurement Manager (Facilities Management / Healthcare) - Royal Derby area

A leading UK infrastructure and facilities delivery organisation is seeking a Procurement Manager to support a major healthcare / FM programme. This is a permanent role aligned to a high-profile hospital project, working closely with operational, project and commercial stakeholders to deliver compliant, best-value procurement outcomes across projects and categories.
Location / working pattern:

  • Onsite 5 days per week for the first 3 months (project mobilisation / embedding phase)
  • Then hybrid: typically 2 days from home (pattern to be agreed)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end procurement activity across facilities management / healthcare categories and project requirements
  • Deliver procurement for projects and packages (from sourcing strategy through tendering, evaluation, negotiation and award)
  • Support category procurement activity, ensuring commercial value, compliance and supplier performance
  • Build and manage tender lists, run market engagement, prepare enquiry packs, manage clarifications, and produce award recommendations
  • Drive supply chain management: supplier relationship management, performance reviews, risk management and continuous improvement
  • Partner with operational and project teams to align procurement delivery to programme, timelines, and service requirements
  • Maintain visibility of procurement pipeline activity, reporting progress, risks, opportunities and savings/value outcomes

Job Requirements:

Essential

  • Proven facilities management procurement experience within a healthcare environment (or directly comparable setting)
  • Demonstrable experience procuring projects / project-led requirements, not just BAU purchasing
  • Strong supply chain management capability (supplier performance, risk, relationship management)
  • Experience across category procurement (strategy, sourcing, stakeholder alignment)
  • Confident stakeholder management, able to work closely with operational, technical and commercial teams

Desirable

  • Experience supporting large, complex programmes / live operational environments
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to balance cost, risk, performance and service outcomes

Benefits:

  • Salary: £55,000-£70,000 (depending on experience)
  • Car allowance: £5,900 or company car
  • Bonus: 14% team bonus (discretionary)
  • Permanent opportunity on a major, high-visibility healthcare project

If you have strong healthcare FM procurement experience and are happy with an initial onsite period before moving to hybrid, please get in touch for a confidential discussion.
