Our client is seeking a Senior SHES Advisor to support major infrastructure projects across the EGL1 and Peterborough workstreams. This is a contract opportunity involving multiple sites between Leeds, Seaham, Stockton-on-Tees and Peterborough, with an immediate start and an anticipated duration of approximately three to six months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing senior Safety, Health, Environment and Sustainability (SHES) advice across active infrastructure and construction sites
- Supporting project teams in maintaining compliance with relevant legislation, policies and industry standards
- Conducting site inspections, audits and reviews to identify risks and drive continual improvement
- Advising on risk assessments, method statements, permits and safe systems of work
- Investigating incidents, supporting corrective actions and monitoring preventative measures
- Promoting a positive health, safety and environmental culture among employees, contractors and supply chain partners
- Preparing accurate reports and providing clear updates to project and senior management teams
- Assisting with the implementation and monitoring of SHES plans across the EGL1 and Peterborough projects
Job Requirements:
- Significant experience in a senior SHES, health and safety, or environmental advisory role within construction or infrastructure
- Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and construction industry best practice
- Experience supporting major projects across multiple sites
- Understanding of environmental management, sustainability and occupational health requirements
- Relevant professional qualification, such as NEBOSH, NCRQ, IOSH membership or an equivalent discipline-specific certification
- Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent report writing, audit and investigation abilities
- Ability to travel between project sites and work independently in a fast-paced environment
Contract Details:
- Contract duration of approximately three to six months

- Applicants must be local to the project locations and within a reasonable daily commuting distance
