Electrical Construction Manager - Finland (Hyperscale Data Centre Projects)
About Our Client
Our client is a premier, rapidly expanding European leader in mission-critical digital infrastructure delivery. Operating at the cutting edge of the data centre sector, they act as a trusted turnkey general contractor for major global hyperscale clients, managing large-scale, complex engineering projects across Europe.
They are currently expanding their footprint across Finland with landmark hyperscale developments-including multi-facility campuses in Espoo (featuring extensive structural remediation and advanced sustainable infrastructure) and Kirkkonummi (a multi-phase campus featuring administrative and ancillary buildings designed with integrated rainwater harvesting systems). These high-profile campuses demand world-class electrical engineering rigor to power sustainable, next-generation cloud infrastructure.
To support these major programmes, our client is looking for an ambitious Electrical Construction Manager to spearhead critical on-site electrical installations.
Role Overview
Based full-time on-site in Finland, you will take complete ownership of the electrical construction lifecycle across these massive mission-critical developments. Working closely with project management, package leads, and specialist subcontractors, you will ensure that all high-voltage (HV), medium-voltage (MV), and low-voltage (LV) electrical infrastructure is delivered safely, on schedule, and to the highest technical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Oversight & Quality Assurance: Manage comprehensive site QA procedures in tandem with the QA Manager, ensuring absolute compliance with rigorous data centre specifications.
- Electrical Infrastructure Delivery: Supervise the installation, testing, and integration of complex LV/MV power distribution systems, backup generation assets, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), and critical containment systems.
- Programme & Subcontractor Management: Oversee mechanical and electrical (M&E) subcontractor activities, monitoring daily progress against master schedules, manpower trackers, and two-week look-ahead programmes.
- Resource & Logistics Planning: Ensure labour resources and technical plant materials are accurately planned, delivered, verified against data centre specifications, and safely stored on-site.
- Change Control & Commercial Tracking: Identify, log, and report all technical variations, delays, and design changes to project management, ensuring proper capture of cost and programme impacts.
- Project Handover & Close-Out: Drive seamless technical close-outs, supporting O&M manuals, dynamic commissioning logs, integrated system testing (IST) punch lists, safety files, and material handovers.
- Health, Safety & Governance: Champion a proactive safety culture on-site by strictly enforcing health and safety requirements, driving high housekeeping standards, and completing regular safety audits (such as weekly "Don't Walk By" cards).
What We Are Looking For
- Qualifications: Essential relevant electrical trade qualification, City & Guilds Certificate, HNC/BTEC, NVQ, or equivalent electrical engineering degree.
- Experience: 5+ years of hands-on construction management experience, specifically focusing on large-scale electrical installations within mission-critical environments such as hyperscale data centres, advanced manufacturing, or pharmaceutical plants.
- Technical Mastery: Deep, practical knowledge of LV/MV electrical distribution systems, switchgear, standby power systems, QA validation, and European safety compliance standards.
- Leadership & Commercial Acumen: Proven capability to lead large multidisciplinary teams, manage tier-one subcontractors, and navigate fast-paced change control frameworks.
- Software & Planning: Proficient in MS Project or equivalent enterprise scheduling software.
- Culture: A genuine commitment to driving engineering excellence and absolute safety on-site.
Why Join?
- Shape Digital Infrastructure: Play a vital role in constructing state-of-the-art sustainable data centre hubs across Espoo and Kirkkonummi.
- Career Growth: Join an elite contractor scaling rapidly across Europe, with clear pathways for professional development.
- Competitive Package: Attractive salary and benefits package reflective of your expertise.
