These major hyperscale campuses involve complex civil and structural engineering, extensive mechanical and electrical installations, and rigorous high-availability testing.

We are looking for an experienced, proactive EHS Manager to join our client's team on these major Finnish data centre builds, reporting directly to the EHS Lead.

The Role

As the EHS Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all construction and commissioning works across the Espoo and Kirkkonummi campuses are executed safely, sustainably, and in strict compliance with statutory legislation and best practice standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning & Documentation: Develop and maintain Construction Stage Health & Safety Plans, ensuring robust method statements, risk assessments, Safe Plans of Action (SPA), and permit-to-work systems are actively supported.
  • Site Audits & Inspections: Conduct regular site inspections and audits across all workfronts, documenting findings, managing C.O.S.H.H. assessments, and ensuring all corrective actions and safety observations are closed out.
  • Subcontractor Compliance: Monitor subcontractor alignment with project EHS policies, ensuring rigorous safety standards and proper PPE resource management on site.
  • Incident Management: Lead or assist in incident and accident investigations, guaranteeing timely reporting, statutory compliance, and transparent communication with the project management team.
  • Training & Culture: Coordinate and manage comprehensive EHS inductions and training programmes for all site personnel, championing a proactive zero-harm safety culture.
  • Performance Reporting: Prepare and analyse H&S performance metrics, keeping senior management fully informed of ongoing initiatives, compliance rates, and site progress.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Degree in Environmental, Health & Safety or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing EHS on large-scale construction projects, with data centre or mission-critical experience highly desirable.
  • Strong working knowledge of current EU and relevant statutory Health & Safety legislation.
  • Proven capability in managing all environmental, health, and safety aspects of a complex, fast-paced construction site.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills, with the ability to work on your own initiative while fostering cross-team collaboration.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office and digital EHS reporting systems.
  • Flexibility toward working patterns and changing project priorities.
