Location: Blyth, Northumberland (UK Wide Candidates Welcome)

Working Pattern: On-site | 10/4 Rotation Scheme

Employment Type: Full-time

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager on behalf of our client, a leading European specialist in full turnkey data centre design, construction, and commissioning.

This role is based on-site at our client's flagship Data Centre project in Blyth. While the position is physically located in Blyth, we actively welcome applications from qualified candidates across the UK, offering a structured 10/4 rotation pattern to support travel and work-life balance.

The successful candidate will take full accountability for directing and delivering the complete electrical scope of work across the Blyth Data Centre development. You will ensure all electrical installations are executed safely, punctually, within budget, and to premium quality standards while coordinating seamlessly with internal teams, sub-contractors, and project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Site Delivery & Oversight: Drive and coordinate all electrical installation activities across the Blyth Data Centre campus, ensuring full alignment with overall project schedules.
  • Technical & Design Coordination: Work closely with design engineers and specialist sub-contractors to resolve technical queries and streamline project execution.
  • Performance & Progress Tracking: Take a proactive role in daily and weekly short-term planning to boost productivity, track critical path milestones, and mitigate risk of schedule slippage.
  • Resource Management: Monitor labour allocation, material flow, and equipment procurement to optimize site performance and cost-efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain open, effective communication with client representatives, BIM specialists, package managers, trade foremen, and safety advisors.
  • Quality & Safety Leadership: Maintain exceptional Health, Safety, and Quality (EHS/QA) standards, ensuring strict implementation and compliance across all electrical work packages.
  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Guide, supervise, and mentor multidisciplinary teams, including package managers, electrical engineers, site supervisors, and foremen.
  • Reporting & Administration: Prepare and deliver detailed weekly progress reports (covering 12-week lookahead schedules, planned vs. actual progress, long-lead procurement forecasts, variation logs for Quantity Surveyors, and safety updates).
  • Action Ownership: Lead weekly coordination meetings, maintaining precise records and driving swift resolution of all actions and site queries.

Candidate Profile & Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of proven experience managing large-scale, complex electrical packages (e.g., major data centres, commercial developments, heavy industrial, or critical infrastructure projects).
  • Sector Expertise: Prior experience on mission-critical or data centre construction projects is highly desirable.
  • Qualifications: A recognised Electrical Trade or Engineering qualification with recent experience leading major electrical contracts.
  • Project Control: Strong track record in managing project schedules, budgets, and sub-contractor packages within fast-moving environments.
  • Leadership & Communication: Outstanding team leadership, organisational capability, and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work on-site in Blyth on a 10/4 rotation scheme.

What Our Client Offers

  • Industry Leadership: The opportunity to work with a premier European data centre delivery partner.
  • Flagship Project: Direct involvement in a large-scale, state-of-the-art data centre development in Blyth.
  • Rotation Support: Flexible working arrangement for UK-wide applicants on a 10/4 rotation scheme.
  • Career Growth: Ongoing professional development and clear pathways for career progression.
