Our client is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer for a contract position based in Salford. The role offers hybrid working, with one day per week in the office and involves delivering bridge design, assessment and maintenance solutions across highways infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Producing and overseeing bridge scheme designs, assessments, reports and technical documentation in line with project briefs, budgets and timescales
- Carrying out structural designs and undertaking or overseeing structural assessments
- Developing bridge solutions in accordance with national design standards, relevant procedures and client requirements
- Supporting the delivery of feasibility reports, design checks and maintenance solutions
- Ensuring designs comply with relevant health and safety legislation, including the CDM Regulations
- Contributing to quality management processes, site-specific audits and project compliance
- Monitoring programme progress and supporting regular reporting to clients and project managers
- Assisting with the mentoring and development of staff and the growth of in-house structures capability
Job Requirements:
- Chartered Engineer status, such as CEng MICE, MIStructE or an equivalent professional qualification
- Strong equivalent bridge engineering experience may also be considered
- Experience in a similar role within the highways sector
- Proven knowledge of bridge design standards, structural analysis and assessment
- Experience producing or overseeing technical designs, reports and scheme documentation
- Understanding of health and safety requirements, including the CDM Regulations
- Ability to manage workloads effectively and deliver work within agreed budgets and timescales
- Strong communication, reporting and collaborative working skills
