Job description

Introduction

Our client, a leading company in the Defence & Security industry, is currently seeking a skilled Painter to join their team on a 12-month contract basis. As a Painter, you will play a vital role in the Maritime Naval Ships (MNS) division of BAE, contributing to the important work they do in the Defence sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out painting and decorating tasks in accordance with specifications and instructions provided
• Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, and filling any cracks or holes
• Apply paint, varnish, or other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
• Ensure all work is completed to a high standard, paying attention to detail and maintaining a clean working environment
• Follow health and safety procedures at all times, including the proper use of personal protective equipment

Job Requirements

• Significant experience in trades related to painting and decorating, with a core competency in Painting & Decorating
• Proficient in paint application techniques, including brush, roller, and spray equipment
• Experience with surface preparation, including cleaning, sanding, and filling
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to painting and decorating
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
