Job description

As the QHSE Superintendent, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of our client's operations within the ship dry bulk sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) aspects of the fleet's bulk cargo operations
• Develop and maintain safety management systems to ensure compliance with international regulations and company policies
• Implement and monitor safety procedures, risk assessments, and corrective actions
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement
• Provide guidance and training to crew members on safety practices and procedures
• Investigate and report accidents, incidents, and near misses, and recommend preventive measures
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement
• Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices to ensure compliance

Job Requirements:

• Sailed as Chief Mate or Master onboard a Bulk Carrier or similar
• Experience working as a Marine or Safety Superintendent in the shipping industry
• Strong understanding of ship dry bulk operations and relevant regulations
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work independently and make decisions in high-pressure environments
• Living in, or willing to relocate to, Italy
• Right to live and work in the EU
• Willingness to travel as required by the role
